It's almost Christmas!  Do you know what that means?

It means that Amazon/Fed Ex/UPS drivers give NO F*CKS whatsoever and are currently the craziest drivers on the road. Earlier today, saw an Amazon driver (in a U-Haul, duh) run up onto a curb at 35 mph in a subdivision coming my way - while rushing around looking at his phone, of course.

Kinja'd!!!

On a related note, U-Haul must have their entire fleet rented out to Amazon drivers right now.  Pic not mine.

UPS is driving U Hauls and Budget trucks around Austin . And there’s an Amazon distribution center near me with an absolutely endless supply of white delivery vans. It has increased the traffic in our area significantly.

I expect to see them everywhere, and I did today - what struck me is how crazy they all seem to be driving.  No doubt they’re getting pushed hard by their bosses right now - my stepbrother worked for UPS for a while years ago, and they grind you up.

Hey - did you see this? I know, it’s 1 year removed from being a squarebody, but I knew you’d like the color combination:

odds are... that wasnt his phone... just the tabletty thingy their route is on... also the thingy you need to sign off on when you get it

if he was on his phone he’d have both his hands off the wheel

(yes... thats normal too... i aged many years doing ridealongs)

Oh it definitely was - he had just made a dropoff, and was trying to figure out where the hell to go next. Right after I saw him, I dropped my son off.

As soon as I left, I passed him, trying to back out of a driveway onto a busy road - it wasn’t going well for him, and I kinda think he had made a wrong turn.

Yeah — I have no doubt that those drivers are getting all kinds of shit from their bosses telling them to hurry hurry hurry.

And to be clear - I meant that *you* are right - it was a company phone/tablet telling him what to do/where to go.  I’m sure he gets docked every time he makes a wrong turn knowing those companies.

I had a FedEx driver throw it in reverse and back out in front of me on a 2-lane 55 mph country road in the dark... I stood on the brakes and laid on the horn. He was unfazed. He drive down about 30 yards, stood on his brakes and pulled into the next driveway. They're worse than Uber/Lyft drivers.

aah righto... and yeah i misunderstood

and assuming they get paid the same way over there as here... it worse than you think

paid per delivered parcel... thats why shit gets left on your doorstep to steal... drivers sign for it themselves coz package delivered...

(wich is shitty.... but they aint paid by the hour... and people have a knack for not being home when packages are expected.... everyones in the wrong here)

(incidentally... if you’re gonna be not home for the delivery... leave a note on the outside of the door telling them wich of your neighbours will take it.. with a signature)

Amazon drivers are... not at the level ups/usps/fedex. Standards are low

That’s a huge understatement.

I’m guessing many of them were rejected by Uber and Lyft.

My friend said he was about to grab his firearm because two guys in a Toyota C orolla stopped outside his house and started digging through the trunk. Then they walked up to his house.... and dropped off Amazon Prime boxes. That is super sketchy.

You know the nice thing about a postal or ups truck, no one is going to go thorugh that much effort to fake to try and rob you.

A couple weeks ago a super shitty ford ecoline pulled up. thought “nope no fucking way I’m answering the door. ”

...in retrospect if one wanted to rob, a bank a fedex truck frantically driving would be a great getaway car.
